Open Enrollment Period 2019

After AEP, there is OEP. From January 1st to March 31st, Medicare Advantage Plan (MA Plan) enrollees have the option to enroll in another MA Plan or disenroll and go back to Original Medicare. Enrollees are limited to one change during open enrollment each year. Keep in mind, changes to an individual’s prescription drug plan can only be made during this period if they were enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan previously.

You can disenroll from your MA plan and go back to original Medicare. If you do, you may join a Prescription Drug Plan.Join a Medicare PDP if you are currently in Original Medicare.
If you’ve signed up for an MA plan (with or without drug coverage), you can switch to another MA plan (with or without drug coverage).Change from Original Medicare to an MA Plan.
If you enrolled in a MA Plan during your Initial Enrollment Period, you can switch to another MA Plan (with or without drug coverage) or revert to Original Medicare (with or without drug coverage) in the first 3 months you have Medicare.Switch from a Medicare PDP to another if you’re currently in Original Medicare.

As an agent, it is important to keep up to date as the rules of Medicare change. Note: no unsolicited marketing or marketing materials may be sent to an MA enrollee during OEP.
